ShonaghShonagh Moore, PhD, RYT-200.  Shonagh officially became hooked on yoga a few years ago and was instantly drawn to the flowing style and physical challenges that Vinyasa Yoga provides. What started as a form of physical exercise and as a way to stretch, unwind and destress, quickly evolved into a deep appreciation of the mind-body awareness and connection that yoga provides. She credits yoga as helping her save her sanity while working full-time in a demanding research environment while balancing family life and is committed to sharing the many benefits of yoga with others.

Wanting to further deepen her personal practice and understanding of yoga, in September 2011 Shonagh enrolled in a 200 hour Yoga Alliance Teacher Training Program with Dharma Richards at the Yoga Garden (Apex, NC). Her first introduction to kids yoga came soon after when she completed her mini yogis® certification with Shana Meyerson.

In addition to her studies in yoga, Shonagh holds a PhD in Psychology and recently resigned from her job in academia researching brain development in order to pursue her true passion…teaching yoga and supporting others on their journey to wellness in all aspects of life. miniyogi

Shonagh is eternally grateful to have the opportunity to teach yoga and absolutely loves the energy, playfulness and creativity of children. She strives to cultivate a fun, warm and safe class environment where kids can shine. In addition to teaching kids, she also teaches adult classes and has her Beginner Mat Certification through Power Pilates.

Shonagh is passionate about creating a nurturing and calming environment and firmly believes in the many benefits that a consistent yoga practice provides. She thinks that it is critical to teach children Yoga and meditation early, in order to establish roots for healthy development.

In her spare time, Shonagh enjoys running, reading and especially spending time with her son, husband and 2 crazy dogs in Cary, NC.
